Our ministry among the elderly folk of Brandon is mainly within the care homes.
The sheltered accommodation has approx 32 flats. Every week 4 of us spend the morning there providing hot sausage rolls, tea/coffee. and cakes. We then have a fun time with a quiz and a lot of chatting. Once a month a group of us enjoy a short service with plenty of singing and a brief word.
We also cook a meal at Christmas which other residents are invited to. At Easter we buy fish and chips for anyone who would like to join us. Another good time enjoying their company.
The residential care home invites us to take a service three times a year – Easter, Harvest and Christmas. It is always good to chat to the residents and hear their stories from years ago.
It is a privilege to spend time with these folk and present the
gospel to them.
